Waste Stream Solutions
Let us clear the air (and the odor) from your hog or dairy operation. ELM's Waste Stream Solutions Technology will kill the problem at the source. So if you need to control your odor, gas release, reduce bacteria and pathogens let us show you more.
Waste Stream Solutions
ELM Technologies has become the first company to successfully apply the power of electrolysis across a waste stream with a floating resistance. This patent pending process enables it to effectively treat several differing waste streams from agricultural and industrial to mining and municipal. Waste Stream Solutions utilizes this process to treat waste streams in various ways such as killing bacteria & pathogens, destruction of organic molecules, aiding in separation, and precipitation of metals, reducing BOD, and neutralizing acidic waste streams. This provides far reaching benefits such as; significantly reduced odor and gas emissions, kills antibiotic-resistant strains of microbes & bacteria, reduce the risk of growth hormones and drug metabolites in discharge waters, and neutralize acid mine runoff and aid in separation of minerals.

Treatment of various industrial waste streams like cheese plants, fruit & vegetable processing. with the WSS 3500 will help control the odor. "I am standing down wind of one of our tucks surfacing applying, your system has reduced the odor by 75% and what is left is not offensive, you have far exceeded our expectations." Comments provided by Greg Weaver, Bytec Inc.
Benefits:
- easy "one touch" operation
- can be remotely operated and monitored
- low energy consumption
- low maintenance
- mobile versions available to treat multiple locations
Your solution for hog manure
management and odor emission reduction.
|
The flexibility of a mobile unit not only allows you to treat your entire operation to lower your cost per animal, but also allows you to share it with your Coop, neighbors, or provide it as a service to further lower you costs. The unit is easy to drain and disinfect so it can meet your bio security needs. |

Waste treated with the Waste Stream Solutions unit is able to be surface applied with little to no odor. With significantly reduced bacteria levels it also reduces antimicrobial resistance and fecal contamination to surface and ground water. "We applied 3 loads to the surface so we could compare to untreated manure and you couldn't smell it." "My neighbor called me and said I can see you but I can't smell you." "It is very important to my operation that my neighbors are happy." Comments provided by Ray Slach West Branch, IA.
Will your operation meet emissions regulations for hydrogen sulfide and ammonia? If not, that's what we do best. The chart below shows typical hydrogen sulfide and ammonia reductions before and after treatment with the Waste Stream Solutions SW 100-500 series units.

Many dairies utilize lagoon waste to flush their pins to remove waste build up on a daily basis. Typically the pins are flushed each time the cows are taken to the milking parlors (3 times per day). Most of the complaints/concerns for odor occur during this flush time. An average sized dairy of 1200 head will flush 2 alleys every 45-60 minutes for a total of 24-30 flushes per day creating significant odors issues day and night. During the winter with the barn sides closed this can have a negative impact on the animals health due to the gas and bacteria release into the air of the barn.
Bedding an issue? Why not treat and remove the solids and use as bedding. The manure can be treated prior to separation killing 70-90% of the bacteria and pathogens. The solids can then be used as a safer bedding. The treatment process will also aid in the separation of the solids.

Well Rehabilitation and
Treatment
When it comes to well rehabilitation and treatment it is Time to See the Light!!
ELM Technologies has developed a new patent method of well rehabilitation that could change the well rehabilitation industry. ELM thought long and hard about this process and came to the conclusion: Why do we sit around and wait for a well to plug before we clean it? And then when it does plug physically pound, scrub, blast and chemically treat the well with harsh chemicals? Only to see it plug again.
Introducing the UV Well Rehabilitation Model ELMT-2000.
This unit is installed in the well and operates while the well works to eliminate bacterial growth in the well and on the well screen making the need for well rehabilitation non-existent.
These units are custom made to match your well specifications. The cost can be as little as what one well rehabilitation costs you. Come see the light and watch your well perform better.
Municipal Waste Treatment
Waste Stream Solutions 500 series is an excellent replacement for aeration to treat clarifier sludge. Processes the sludge faster and far cheaper while adding more capacity to your plant.
What this web site for future validation as pre-treatment, and chlorine replacement validation evolves.

110,000 fecal coli form mpn/gram reduced to 3,400
700,070 fecal coli form mpn/gram reduced to <5,900
The above data was taken while treating clarifier sludge from municipal waste treatment process in side by side digester tanks with ELM Technologies Waste Stream Solutions. This sludge is typically treated using aeration for 30-40 days to reduce bacteria enough for discharge. After two days of treatment with the ELM system the reduction was far below what aeration was able to achieve. With 2 digester tanks running full time the maximum capacity is 24 batches per year or 2.88 million gallons, with the ELM system used the maximum capacity is increased to 182 batches or 21.84 million gallons.
Solids Capture
Municipal clarifier sludge treated with low amounts of polymer and run through a screw press, typical results 13%-14%, typical results after ELM treatment 18.5%-19% (average of 5 batches processed) 32% increase in solids capture.
Electrical Cost Comparison

This small municipality utilized aeration to treat two 120,000 gallon digester tanks. The aeration process took an average of 30-40 days per tank. ELM's Waste Stream Solution Technology took only 2 days and will save roughly $50,000 annually in electrical costs and increase capacity 4-5 times.
